In 2009, the first stand exhibitions on the history of the Yaroslavl Medical Institute in the 1940s and 1950s were opened at the university. They were deployed at the Department of History and Philosophy so that first-year students could get acquainted with the history of the university’s development during the Great Patriotic War.
On November 21, 2014, the Museum of the History of YSMU was opened in the hall of the scientific medical library of the university. Photographic documents became the basis of the museum exposition. A huge photo archive was collected, numbering thousands of photographs. In addition, unique manuscripts of the university staff and their scientific works, rightfully considered a bibliographic rarity, were found. Many of them tell about the first steps of higher medical education in the Yaroslavl land. These are the most valuable exhibits of the museum fund.
